Arthur and Camille opened La Bookinerie in the Condamine five months ago. The shop – a play on the French word bouquin (meaning book) – sells French-language titles of all genres, including a decent-size children’s selection.

“We want a space where everyone can pick up a book to sit and read. And children are most welcome here,” says Arthur, a Monegasque. Beyond this vision, the couple hopes Monaco's only bookshop at space at 1 Promenade Honoré II (steps from Starbucks La Condamine) will serve as a convivial meet-up for literary gatherings and author readings.

And they are delighted to celebrate their first book signing on Tuesday, February 3. From 6:15 p.m, author David Foenkinos will sign copies of his latest release, Tout le monde aime Clara (Everyone Loves Clara).
